One week ago, SoundTree hosted the first ever completely online, live conference on music technology. Over 300 people attended 20 sessions, presented by some of the best clinicians in the field. For many attendees, this was the first time they had attended a webinar. While there were some technical glitches for a few, the vast majority were able to participate in a truly interactive event.
Each of the “rooms” where presentations were held had live bloggers hosting backchannel discussions about what was being covered in the sessions. Transcripts of these discussions can be found by visiting http://www.thomasjwestmusic.com/metosonlinesummit.htm. In addition to this coverage, all of the sessions were recorded and will be available by November 1st on the METOS 2010 homepage. To access these recordings, you will need to click on the session title in the schedule, and the recording will come up for viewing.
Immediately following the event, a survey was sent out to all registrants to garner feedback on the event. There has been a terrific response, and we plan on implementing some of the suggestions and addressing the handful of criticisms to make our next online conference opportunity even better. Thank you all who participated in METOS 2010. We were certainly pleased with the end result and we are already planning a similar event in February of 2011. Stay tuned for more information.
