Music Notation Software

Students download a MIDI file from the Internet, import it into a notation program, and re-arrange the piece for a quartet of electronic and/or acoustic instruments. Students rehearse and perform their arrangement for the class. If web access is not available, the instructor can supply one or more MIDI files for students to arrange. Two sample MIDI files can be downloaded below. This zip file includes a Bach Chorale and Bach’s Contata #133. The more difficult of the two to arrange and perform is the Contata.
