Include your students' voices.
Students can also join the celebration by submitting a short written reflection or video sharing their personal experiences in music class this year! Encourage students to talk about the new skills they developed, the strengths and interests they discovered, the performances or projects they are most proud of, and the accomplishments they achieved through music. Students can also give shout-outs to their teachers, classmates, and music programs by sharing how these experiences helped them grow creatively, personally, and academically. Whether they explored songwriting, music production, DJing, podcasting, Modern Band, recording technology, or live performance, we want to hear how music education has impacted their lives this year.
Additional ideas students may discuss include how music class helped them build confidence, teamwork, leadership, communication skills, or creativity; how they connected with their school or local community through performances and projects; how music provided a sense of belonging or personal expression; and how these experiences introduced them to possible college pathways or future careers in music, media, entertainment technology, content creation, audio production, education, or the performing arts. Students are encouraged to share authentic stories that highlight the powerful role music education plays in shaping their future.
Appear on SoundTree TV this Fall

Participants will have the opportunity to share classroom success stories, discuss creative approaches to music tech, songwriting, DJing, podcasting, Modern Band, and other contemporary music programs, and exchange ideas that can inspire and empower fellow teachers everywhere. This exciting event will spotlight the voices of educators who are redefining what music learning looks like for today’s students.
