Hands-on sessions designed for educators implementing modern music production in real classrooms. Join a cohort, collaborate with peers, and walk away with practical strategies you can use immediately.

Shedthemusic’s Electronic Music Educator Workshop
Learn music production from Bob Habersat (Yamaha 40 Under 40 2025 and TI:ME Teacher of the Year 2026) and Eric Jao (World-Renowned DJ and Ableton Certified Trainer) this summer in the Electronic Music Educator Workshop (EMEW). There are four 2-week cohort sessions where teachers from across the world learn, write, and collaborate with each other. The PD is hosted on Shedthemusic’s training portal and includes two optional Zoom sessions and asynchronous projects in a social media-like atmosphere.
New for 2026 is the addition of materials from the Electronic Music Elements II and Pro curricula, offering a wide range of material from music production basics to working with samples and synthesis, all the way to developing a CTE pathway with student certification in Ableton Live. Earn 12 professional development hours and an optional graduate credit from the University of San Diego.

Bob Habersat is a music-technology educator and curriculum developer dedicated to giving every student a path to create music they love. As co-founder of Shedthemusic, Bob has built guitar, theory, and production courses used by thousands of teachers worldwide. His latest program, Electronic Music Elements, brings hands-on music-production resources to learners from late elementary through high school. At Oak Lawn Community HS he runs a full, four-year sequence of guitar and music-tech/theory courses and sponsors the student-run entertainment label, Morning Show Media.

As a DJ and musician, Eric Jao, also known as DJ Enferno, has performed for more than 3 million people across 36 countries. He toured with Madonna as her DJ and programmer, collaborating with her and the Music Director to develop music for the 2008 Sticky & Sweet World Tour. He has also remixed Linkin Park and created music for the ONE show by Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
Eric is the Founder of Mix Major, an electronic music school for kids and teens, and the co-creator of the Electronic Music ELEMENTS curriculum for grades 4–12.
